VN textile and garment continue to see resurgence in investment capital

Investment in Vietnam was admittedly to take advantage of business opportunities from the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) Agreement, but Far Eastern affirmed that even if the TPP is suspended, their capital increase plan will remain unchanged.

The biggest increase in investment capital in the textile and garment sector in the year so far is the expansion of the plant to manufacture polyester fibre products by Taiwanese Polytex Far Eastern Group in Binh Duong Province.

An inflow of capital investment is welcomed by the central province of Quang Nam into the garment and textile sector. Vo Van Hung, head of the Investment Promotion and Enterprises Support Agency of Quang Nam Province, said that many domestic enterprise delegations and foreign firms coming from South Korea, China and Taiwan have visited the province to seek investment opportunities in the textile and garment industry.

Vietnam's southern economic hub Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City’s industrial zones (IZ) and export processing zones (EPZs) in 2014 attracted 752 million U.S. dollars in investment, up 23 percent year-on-year, sources from the city's Export Processing and Industrial Zone Authority (Hepza) reported.

This year HCM city has set a target to receive at least 700 million U.S. dollars in investment into its industrial zones (IZs) and export processing zones (EPZs).
