Textile exhibition in Vietnam to boost fabric production

Vietnam Textile & Garment Exhibition (VTG) held in HCM City commenced yesterday and has attracted international exhibitors and buyers from over 15 countries.

Around 125 companies from all over the world have brought machinery for sewing, knitting, spinning, cutting and printing fabrics, processing fibres, and embroidering, garment accessories, dyes and other products in the exhibition.

These firms came from Taiwan, Hong Kong, India, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, Turkey and other countries to display the products and services.

ITMA 18th edition to be held in Barcelona in 2019

CEMATEX announces that Spain will host the 18th edition of ITMA, the world’s largest exhibition of textile and garment machinery technology. It will be held at the Fira de Barcelona exhibition centre from 20 to 26 June 2019.

Fira de Barcelona won the international bid organised by CEMATEX, the owner of the ITMA and ITMA ASIA shows, after fierce competition from three other short-listed bidders out of an original list of 9 venues.

Short-staple spindles shipment falls in 2014, flat knitting machines up

The International Textile Machinery Shipment Statistics released by the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF), shows that shipments of textile machinery across segments declined in 2014, although marginally. Offtake of new short-staple spindles fell 15 per cent in 2014 from their levels in 2013 while that of long-staple spindles and open-end rotors increased 70 per cent and 2.6 per cent respectively. The number of draw-texturing spindles shipment increased 12 per cent during the year.

ITMA 2015, the world's largest textile and garment manufacturing technology showcase, is expected to draw over 100,000 visitors from around the world. The second day began with a seminar on the Textile Industry Development of Ethiopia conducted by Seleshi Lemma, Director General, the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.

GTTES 2015 welcomed Ramdas Kadam, Cabinet Minister of Environment. Kadam personally visited each exhibitor and appalled their participation. He also encouraged and assured to boost the textile sector and its various requirements wherever applicable.

Italian textile machinery manufacturers witnessed rise in orders for the third quarter of 2014 compared to the previous quarter, due to the demand from foreign markets.

The rise in orders is limited to foreign markets, where for the period taken into consideration an increase of 9% was reported while the domestic market remains stagnant.

TN govt to consider demand by SIMA for cut in VAT on a trial basis

The Southern India Mills’ Association (SIMA) has appealed to the State Government to bring down the VAT rate from 5 percent to 2 percent, as they are gearing up to conduct TexFair 2015 and the second edition of SIMA Farm to Finish between January 9 and 12 at the Codissia Trade Fair Complex here.

SIMA Chairman T Rajkumar said that the association had met the State Finance Minister and Secretary in this regard and they were ensured that their request would be considered on a trial basis initially before regularising it.

Pakistan plans investment of Rs. 100 million to proliferate textile sector

Pakistan has planned to proliferate its textile sector. For this, it has devised to manufacture textile machinery and agriculture implements. About Rs. 100 million are to be invested in this plan. It includes setting up a Common Facility Centre (CFC). The Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (SMEDA) has taken an initiative in this context.
 

Pakistan textile machinery imports grows by 58pc in July-May 2013-14

Pakistan import of textile machinery grows by $200.714 million which is greater by 58 percent to $548.997 million in July-May 2013-14 as compared to the machinery import of $348.283 million in the same period last fiscal year.
 
The Pakistan textile industry imported new machinery to replace the dilapidated machinery to boost up production and not for business start ups. The manufactures have scrapped the existing overused machinery with new one.
