The Telangana government in collaboration with apparel manufacturer Kay Ventures to set up an Apparel Super Hub (ASP) at the upcoming apparel park in Sircilla district. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed to this effect by Handlooms and Textiles Commissioner Shailaja Ramaiyyar with the company representatives in the presence of Handlooms and Textiles Minister K T Rama Rao at the State Secretariat here on Tuesday.

A number of textile players at the national and international levels are awaiting Telangana state government to unveil its textile and apparel policy to invest and participate in production at Warangal textiles park. The Telangana Government is in the process of formulating a textiles and apparel policy that contemplates waiver of personal loans of individual handloom weavers.

Collector Krishna Bhaskar avowing that the Telangana government will indubitably cooperate in developing of Textile Park in the district for which proposals were already submitted to extend 50 percent of financial help on behalf of the government to reinstate the closed units. About 26 units in the textile park were closed due to delay in providing subsidy and other reasons. Also various units established in the park still have to pay Rs 10 crore to the banks.

The Telangana state government seeks support of the Centre in set up Japan Industrial Township at Medak in the proposed National Industrial Corridor Development Authority (NICDA) which will immensely increase the investment competitiveness and attract more investors from the Asia Pacific region.

The setting up of NICDA between Central government and Japan is in the offing, which will be finalized in October, mostly before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed tour to Japan in October or November.
