In China, 30s compact siro-spun yarn in Jiangsu was up US cents 3 a kg in the fourth week of September while rayon weaving yarn 30s in Xiaoshan edged up US cent 1 a kg on the week.
Spun viscose yarn prices were stable to higher while selling ideas were reported stable. The markets were supported by the uptrend in viscose staple fibre prices while supply tightness remained unresolved.
Prices in India weakened sharply during the week although VSF prices held steady trend since Early May. The fall largely reflected weak demand, both in domestic as well as export markets.
With cotton prices falling sharply in India and downward revision in polyester fibre prices earlier in September, blended spun yarn prices moderated in similar proportion in the fourth week of September. PC yarn prices fell 2.6 per cent week on week while PV yarns were cheaper by INR 1 a kg.

In China, siro-spun 30s yarn in Jiangsu was up US cents 4 a kg in the third week of September while rayon weaving yarn 30s in Xiaoshan was up US cents 7 on the week.
Spun viscose yarn sentiment was stable to firm this week in China. Orders for vortex-spun yarn were favorable, leading to better performance and in turn improved demand for VSF. In northern regions, the mills mainly bought need based volume, with some in Gaomi planning 3-7 days for National Day celebration.

Offers were reported higher for rayon yarn due to rising VSF costs. VSF prices in China have risen more than 3.5 per cent in local currency and 4 per cent in US$ terms in the first two weeks of September.
In India, polyester-cotton yarn prices dropped 1.7 per cent as both polyester and cotton prices have declined in the second week of September. This also implies that margins have slid at spinning mills, as far as they were not covered. 30s (65/35) PV yarn prices were down US cents 2 a kg on the week in Indore market. PC 30s (52/48) prices fell US cents 4 a kg on the week in Ludhiana market.
Viscose spun yarn prices were range bound in the first week of September on sluggish sales on mute transactions. In China, viscose prices gradually picked up as discussions for siro-spun mostly up, with passable liquidity. VSF prices have continued rising, with benchmark 1.5D staple fibers up 5 per cent in the last four weeks and 11 per cent in three months on reduced production over the month. Rayon weaving yarn 30s price in Xiaoshan was up US cents 2 a kg.
In the first week of September, polyester-viscose prices in China have increased in line with a continued increase of viscose fiber prices. Any rise of fibre prices, spinners were feeling that demand was recovering as usual in this part of the year. Import yarn prices are down in Yuan terms and demand was therefore returning to normal on the lower end of the market. Overall, with textile production progressively returning to a seasonal high, demand for fiber was improving. 24 PC (52/48) carded yarn prices in Pakistan fell US cents 9 a kg on the week on the Faisalabad market while 30s were down US cents 12.
