Spun viscose yarn market sentiment was soft in China, seeing yarn makers mainly liquidating their stocks based on market prevailing prices.
Market offers for siro-spun 40s yarn and compact and siro-spun yarn fell further on the week in line with tumbling VSF cost.
In Qianqing, PC (65/35) 32s yarn prices fell US cents 2 a kg while 45s PC combed yarn prices were stable at US$3.32 a kg in the third week of December.
Blended yarn prices fell sharply in China, especially polyester-cotton yarn after resisting to fall for a while.
The fall is explained by the continuous declined in cost of cotton as well as PSF and VSF, with no sight of bottoming out.
