In China, offers for nylon chip were mostly up as demand from downstream plants improved during the month. Offers for Taiwan-origin chips fell 0.8% from the previous month. In China, bright conventional spinning nylon-6 chips were up 3.6% from June while semi-dull chips rose 4.7% on the month.

Nylon filament yarn (NFY) prices were down in June 2019 due to insipid demand and increased supply. The average run rate in nylon yarn market was stable at 70%, as a few suppliers cut their run rates. In China, semi-dull FDY70D/24F prices fell US cents 24 a kg from previous month while FDY40D were down US cents 26 a kg.
Polyester, nylon markets on bullish trend
Polyester chain (ethylene, PTA, MEG, PET chips, PSF, PFY) prices in Asia rose in the week ended 5th July 2019 on healthy trading activity, despite slightly weaker upstream crude oil prices. However, polyester feedstock, paraxylene markets declined amid expanding capacities and soft demand.
Nylon or polyamide markets in Asia surged on limited availability and picking up buying sentiment during the week. Demand from the downstream plants improved this week.

Polyester, nylon prices face downward pressure
Asian polyester intermediates, PTA and MEG, prices were pulled down in last week of May 2019 due to bearish downstream sentiment. Feedstock polyester prices were also not supportive and declined during the week, despite buoyant energy prices. PET chip prices plunged amid weak demand.
Nylon or polyamide chip prices continued the downtrend amid sharp falls in CPL markets during the week. Nylon filament yarn prices also edged down on subdued trading.

Polyamide or nylon prices surge on modest demand
Nylon or polyamide chip (nylon-6) prices moved up in the second week of February in line with higher CPL cost. In China, offers for nylon chip prices were raised driven by surging raw materials cost during the week. Most of the downstream mills had previously stocked up materials before holidays. However, inventory level is low post-holiday and it is likely that nylon chip producers may increase their run rates to fill the inventory levels.

Nylon chain: Markets largely stable-to-up in Asia
Feedstock benzene prices in Asian markets were largely stable-to-up in the week ended 18th January 2019 ahead of the Lunar New Year holidays. In the US, spot benzene prices climbed for a second consecutive week after sinking to multiyear lows around the New Year. In Europe, spot benzene prices declined in the week despite higher upstream prices as the market was thinly traded with February prices in contango.

Caprolactum prices downswing amid falling benzene and ample supply
The SE and FE Asian caprolactum markers on the lower end were down US$330 a ton in the week ended 14 December 2018. Caprolactum prices in Asia plunged amid bearish benzene markets during the week.
In China, CPL prices were assessed down in the week as supply in the market increased amid a plant restart recently. The average plant run rate in the region was up at 80.6% as compared to 79.5% last week.
Spot liquid good offers in China were down US$50 a ton as compared to last week while solid goods were down US$79 a ton on the week.

Caprolactum market witness thin trading activity
Caprolactum (CPL) prices in Asia were stable-to-down in the week ended 16 November 2018 while upstream feedstock prices witnessed bearish sentiment. In China, CPL prices for liquid goods were assessed down in the week amid limited trading activity.
In China, spot liquid good offers was down US$1 a ton as compared to last week while solid goods were also down US$1 on weak local currency.
Supply was moderating a bit with average run rate down at 71.5% during the week. Due to few plant shutdowns in the week, supply is likely to decrease in short term.

In China, bright conventional spinning nylon-6 prices rose US$10 a ton in the week ended 26 October 2018 while semi-dull high-speed spinning chip was down US$4 a ton on the week.
Nylon or polyamide chip prices were mostly down amid low feedstock cost in the week. In China, offers for semi-dull nylon chip declined but the drop slowed down that week week as buyers started to bottom-fish.

In China, bright conventional spinning nylon-6 prices in the first week of October was down US$15 a ton as compared to last week while semi-dull high-speed spinning fell US$33 a ton on the week.
Taiwan‐origin and South East Asian high-speed nylon chips offers were up US$40 a ton on the week.
