The SE and FE Asian caprolactum markers on the lower end were down US$330 a ton in the week ended 14 December 2018. Caprolactum prices in Asia plunged amid bearish benzene markets during the week.
In China, CPL prices were assessed down in the week as supply in the market increased amid a plant restart recently. The average plant run rate in the region was up at 80.6% as compared to 79.5% last week.
Spot liquid good offers in China were down US$50 a ton as compared to last week while solid goods were down US$79 a ton on the week.
Overall, CPL prices will slip in coming weeks amid pessimistic producers, declining upstream benzene prices, and increasing supply.
European goods also fell US$300 a ton in the week.
