In China, bright conventional spinning nylon-6 prices in the first week of October was down US$15 a ton as compared to last week while semi-dull high-speed spinning fell US$33 a ton on the week.
Taiwan‐origin and South East Asian high-speed nylon chips offers were up US$40 a ton on the week.
Nylon or polyamide chip prices fell further that week despite firmer caprolactum market. In China, offers for nylon chip declined in the week while producers suffered profit losses and thus few of them lowered their plant run rates recently. As a result, the average run rate fell to 80% in the week.
Market confidence in chip market was a bit dull, with some prices slipping, but to a small extent. Supply was tight due to low rates, however demand was rigid despite low inventory.
