Indore once had seven textile mills and was main exporter of cloth to several parts of the country. The gradual closure of seven mills left thousands of workers unemployed. In the last three decades, several attempts have been made by different organizations and trade unions to revive at least one textile mills. But all attempts failed.

The first ever Yarndale festival took place in September 2013 which proved to be a runaway success for both exhibitors and visitors alike. It was declared an outstanding success when 6,500 visitors flocked into Skipton. Held at Skipton Auction Mart, yarn lovers travelled from far and wide to attend this much anticipated festival.

This year the festival boasts an increased number of exhibitors as well as an enhanced programme of textile workshops and demonstrations. People travelled from all over the world for this year's Yarndale Festival.

Richa Industries, a Delhi-based mid-sized textile manufacturer engaged in manufacturing of knitting, processing, dyeing & special finishing of fabrics. It has textile manufacturing units based in Gurgaon and Faridabad in the state of Haryana with sales of Rs 300 crore plans to sell its business for around Rs.150 crore for which it is in talks with a clutch of private equity players and a Kolkata-based textile group.
