A 112-Member Business Delegation comprising of 51 leading manufacturer exporters from Textile and Apparel Industry from India is in Dubai exhibiting their products in the "Indian Pavilion" at International Apparel & Textile Fair held from 1st to 3rd November 2017 at Dubai World Trade Centre.

According to Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO), exporters body, huge business opportunities exist in the UAE for domestic textile and apparel sector of India. India is also UAE's largest trading partner and export to the Emirates in 2016 touched $32 billion.

The Indian Garment N Fabric Expo (IGFE) 2017 a three day exhibition targeted for customers of entire Sri Lanka will kick off from January 7 in Colombo capital of Sri Lanka. Bangladesh has earned $527.16m from its exports to Indian market in FY 2014-15 a rise by 15.45% compared to $456.63m in the last fiscal year as some products including textiles got duty and quota-free access, according to Export Promotion Bureau data.

Readymade garment export to the neighbouring country also increased by 8.31% to $104.25m in the year compared to $96.25m in the previous year.

Wadia group’s textile firm Bombay Dyeing & Manufacturing Company Ltd (BDMC) has received approval from its board of directors at the meeting held on 25 May to sell/dispose off its textiles processing unit situated at Ranjangaon in Maharashtra, to Delhi based Oasis Procon, a textile manufacturer established in 2004 together with all specified tangible and intangible assets in relation the the undertaking (excluding its brand name and specific liabilities) for Rs 230 crore ($36.2 million), according to a stock market disclosure.
