Pakistan govt to release Rs5mn refunds to exporters from March

Commerce Minister Khurram Dastgir Khan informing the National Assembly (NA) said that the refunds issue of exporters would be resolved very soon as the government would release Rs5 million refunds to exporters from the next month.

Dastgir said that the government was also trying to get better market access for local businesses in the international markets by concluding free trade agreements and preferential trade agreements with different countries.

Coimbatore textile industry has sought three percent export incentive, which is now available to other textile products, for cotton yarn too. If three percent export incentive is available for cotton yarn, textile mills will be able to tap new markets.

In the new Foreign Trade Policy 2015-20 all benefits on exports to African countries has been removed. According to the Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council (TEXPROCIL) a textile industry body, removal of benefits on exports to African countries will affect shipments of value added products like cotton dyed and printed fabrics and made-ups to African countries.
