With the recent launch of Acabada ProActiveWear, the first CBD-infused textiles are officially hitting the market. The fabric treatment behind the CBD-infused textiles was developed by Devan Chemicals, a Belgian company specialized in functional finishes for the worldwide textile markets.
A US-based start-up claims it is the first brand to offer activewear infused with CBD (cannabidiol), an active ingredient in cannabis derived from the hemp plant.
Acabada CEO and co-founder Seth Baum says CBD can have a positive effect on pain and inflammation.
He said: "While typical CBD products such as tinctures and edibles are growing exponentially in popularity, we began to envision a product that addressed health and wellness through a different lens."
Denim manufacturer ISKO has unveiled a wellness collection that features Aloe Vera, Q10 and coffee microcapsules offering benefits for the skin.
The Turkish group is known for innovation in denim and holds 20 patents, with 100 more pending and 100 trademarks.
Its latest collection features 98 new fabrics, which includes the Mantra wellness collection as well as a finish called Vulcano that aids the laser process and a water-repelling option called UltraDry.
