Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA) to encourage value addition, reduce cost of doing business and bridge the gap between production and consumption is urging the authorities to relax duties on yarn import.

PRGMEA official said that the availability of competitively priced and high-quality cotton yarn to value-added textile industry is the basic foundation on which export competitiveness is built.

CS Carolina, Inc. textile manufacturer plans to relocate and expand its manufacturing operations from Swepsonville to Burlington, North Carolina which involves an investment to tune of $7.3 million. This project will also create 22 new jobs over the next three years in Alamance County.

In Tae Joo, President of CS Carolina said that they are excited to help lead the way with investment in the latest technology and their new expansion will revival the textile industry in North Carolina.

Texhong Textile sees profits plunge due to weak yarn sales prices in Chinese market

Texhong Textile Group Ltd, Hongkong listed yarn manufacturer engaged in the production and distribution of quality yarn, grey fabrics and garment fabrics, especially of high value-added core-spun yarn and fashion cotton textiles has posted a plunge in profits for the first half of this year.

The plunge in profit was mainly due to weak yarn sales prices in the mainland China market and the depreciation of the yuan against the US dollar, the company noted in its interim results filed with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange yesterday.
 

No trading deals taking place in Pakistan cotton markets

It’s the four consecutive day with no trading happening in Pakistani cotton markets. This is for the first time that traders have recorded no trading deals and are become idle ahead of the arrival of the new crop.

It has made a history with no trading deals taking place in four consecutive days at the cotton markets in Pakistan, a broker at the Karachi Cotton Exchange stated, adding that trader deals remained nil since Friday.
