The Uzbek delegation included representatives of textile enterprises of the Uztekstilprom association during their visit to Bangladesh signed an agreement for the supply of yarn worth $5 million to Bangladesh.The purpose of the trip, which took place on January 24-27, was to study the experience of Bangladesh in the development of textile and clothing-knitting industry and visit the Yarn and Fabrics Fair 2018.

Bihar, became the first state in the country to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with National Handloom Development Corporation (NHDC). The State industries department on Tuesday signed an agreement to provide yarn on credit to weavers for 45 days.

It is the first time in the country that weavers in a state will be provided raw material on credit along with subsidy and free transport cost. In fact, the yarn supply scheme was conceptualized by industries department.

The Qatar Business Women Association (QBWA) has signed an agreement with the Turkey-based Industrialist Businesswomen and Businessmen's Confederation (Sankon), said commercial counsellor Burak Guresci as part of efforts to enhance Qatar-Turkey economic relations.

Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation (BJMC) has signed an agreement with Golden Fiber Australia Private Limited (GFAPL) of Australia under this deal BJMC will export different jute goods including sacks to Australia worth Tk565 crore in next two years.

The deal was signed at the textile and jute ministry’s conference room yesterday. BJMC Secretary Mohammad Saleh Uddin and Sakib Ahmed Khandoker of the GFAPL signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides, according to a statement issued by the ministry.
