Reliance Industries (RIL) partners with Myntra fastest growing fashion ecommerce player in the country to co-brand its exclusive denim collection "Mast and Harbour made from fabric using R|Elan FeelFresh technology.

R|Elan FeelFresh is one of RIL’s flagship products and they are seeing a lot of acceptance for this technology among the leading apparel manufacturers and brands, said Gunjan Sharma, CMO - Polyester Business, RIL.

Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries (RIL) largest manufacturer of polyester in the country, having an annual capacity of 2 million tonnes (mt), almost half the country’s 4.5 mt after launching of its new brand RElan is now pushing to increase its presence in the polyester space, it is expecting around 5 per cent yearly growth in this segment, much higher than the global average of 3 percent. China, with 45 mt manufacturing capacity out of 70 mt globally, is much ahead of India.

Reliance Industries has emerged the world's second largest producer of paraxylene after BP, with an annual capacity of 2.2 million tonnes or about 11 per cent of global production after the successful commissioning of the last crystallisation train (Train 3) of the paraxylene (PX) complex at Jamnagar, Gujarat, more than doubling the plant's capacity.

The plant is built with state-of-the-art crystallisation technology from BP, and is also highly energy efficient, RIL said.

Reliance Industries, owner of the world's biggest refining complex, after the full-scale start-up of its 2.2 million tonnes per year (tpy) paraxylene plant located in western Gujarat state which is currently operating at about 800,000 tpy capacity. The project’s capacity is set to come on stream before the end of this financial year in March. This will halt heavy naphtha exports in 2017/18.

Reliance Industries, the world's second-largest synthetic fibre manufacturer, has entered into a brand alliance with Precot Meridian a coimbatore-based sewing threads leader to use Reliance’s Recron SHT Brand on its sewing threads brand, RIL said in a statement.

As per the agreement for co-branding for polyester sewing thread yarn range, Precot will manufacture grey and coloured polyester sewing thread yarns using Reliance's Recron SHT, claimed to be one of the quality super high tenacity fibres. This yarn will then be sold, co-branded with Recron SHT.

Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) entered into the textile business in a small way in 1970s, and since then grown to be a Fortune Global 500 company through backward vertical integration. Reliance on Tuesday, announced its joint venture with China’s Shandong Ruyi Science and Technology Group (Ruyi) that will help Reliance reposition its textile business on a high growth path.

RIL will hold a 51% stake in the new joint venture thus formed while the Chinese partner will hold the balance. The proposed transaction is subject to requisite approvals.

Reliance Industries (RIL) recently has commissioned its new Polyester Filament Yarn (PFY) facility at Silvassa.

The entire production from this facility has been successfully placed in the domestic and international markets.

With the commissioning of this ultra-modern Polyester Filament Yarn Facility, Reliance’s total PFY capacity, including the Malaysian facilities, is in excess of 1.5 MMTPA.

This expansion further strengthens RIL’s position as the world’s largest producer of Polyester Fibre and Yarn.
