The Southern India Mills’ Association (SIMA) to organize four day international exhibition of textile machinery, accessories and spares, Texfair 2016. This fair is the tenth edition in its series will see participation from 220 exhibitors displaying their products and services, in 231 stalls.

Apart from leading textile machinery, spares and accessories manufacturers and suppliers from Tamil Nadu, display of products from States such as Gujarat, Delhi, Goa, Punjab and Maharashtra as well as international participants are expected at this fair, a SIMA release said.

Shaw Industries, Dalton based the world’s largest carpet manufacturer and leading global floor covering provider announced its plan to make investment of at least $45 million in its Lexington County, S.C., carpet fiber plant for additional capacity for both nylon and polyester production.

Solvay Group to meet the growing market demand for innovative textile products is planning investment of around R$50 million in fiber and smart polyamide textile yarn production technology. The investment is being made in the latest equipment in texturing area and the modernization of textile weaving machines in Santo André (Brazil).

Japan’s Fukui prefectural government plans to invest in the garment and functional textiles industry to expand its business in Thailand for which they have entered into an agreement with Thailand's Industry Ministry, said Arthit Wuthikaro, the ministry's director-general for the development of industrial promotion.

The total value of investment from Fukui in Thailand amounts to 10 billion baht with 28 companies operating 11 factories.
