Samil Spinning acquires an American yarn manufacturer Buhler Quality Yarn

Samil Spinning, a Korean cotton spinning company signed an agreement to acquire Buhler Quality Yarns, an American yarn manufacturer and subsidiary of Switzerland’s 205 year old yarn maker Hermann Buhler, said the Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency (Kotra). The move is taken to tackle recent threats stemming from the protectionist stance of Donald Trump, signaling other Korean companies may also follow suit.

A memorandum of understanding signed between the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and the Investment and Trade Promotion Centre of HCM City (ITPC) to facilitate the exchange of investment and trade information between the two sides. The MoU also aims to boost import and export activities between the two countries.

Pham Thiet Hoa, ITPC's director, said that under the agreement, both sides would cooperate to disseminate information about the free trade agreement between Vietnam and South Korea, and solve obstructions in investment and trade in each other's markets.

KOTRA comes up with new concept of fashion fund

Clothes are well sold on the global stage with tags ‘Made in Korea' . But, unfortunately, there are few textile and sewing companies in Korea since most of them have moved their factories to China and Vietnam. This impelled Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency's (KOTRA) to come up with the concept of fashion fund.
