Linen Club plans to launch premium apparel range

Jaya Shree Textiles, a part of the Aditya Birla Group company Grasim Industries, offering fabric for Linen Club, an ethnic brand and shares about 70 percent of the pure linen fabric market in India and is said to be suppliers to major international brands such as Marks and Spencer, H&M and so on. It is also a supplier (of linen) to many domestic players is planning to launch its own apparel range across organized retail stores called “Linen Club Studio”.

Jaya Shree Textiles, an Aditya Birla Group company, aims to expand its Linen Club stores to its retail chain by adding around 156 stores taking the total count to 300 by 2020. For each Linen Club stores it would be investing about Rs60 lakh to Rs70 lakh with an area ranging from 1,200 sq ft to 1,500 sq ft. At present, Jaya Shree has 144 Linen Club stores operational in the country.

Jaya Shree Textiles (JST) of Aditya Birla Nuvo Limited, Kolkata, in collaboration with the Union government’s Weavers’ Service Centre (WSC), Vijayawada, to promote Kalamakari art on linen fabric.

According to the promotional plan of the business and the Kalamkari art, the JST, a leading player in linen and wood segment of the global textiles, will supply linen yarn to Pedana weavers, who will weave it into a cloth. This will provide better income source to the handloom weavers.
