Government has extended the anti-dumping duty on import of Mulberry Raw Silk for from the neighbouring country, China to protect domestic industry from cheap inbound shipments.

To this effect, the Department of Revenue in the Finance Ministry issued a separate notification, imposing an anti-dumping duty of USD 1.85 per kg on Mulberry Raw Silk from China.

The Indonesian Trade Ministry and the Netherlands’ center for promotion of imports from developing countries (CBI) held a two-day training on fair trade for local home décor and home textile exporters on Monday and Tuesday.

The government focused on improving the competitive advantage of the local home accessories and home textile makers in the global market.

With growing demand for fair trade certification globally, government urged these local textile makers to acquire the certification to be competitive in the market.

Peruvian textile makers and Alternative has entered into partnership to create fair-trade clothing. The "Made in Peru" project is the result of this partnership. Alternative, taps into Peru’s ancient textile tradition for its 2014 spring collection. The eco-fashion brand has created six new sustainable fabrics derived from a single type of organic cotton.
