Walmart's suggestion spurned by FOSTTA members

The Walmart experts suggestion to transfer grey fabrics directly from powerloom weaving units to textile dyeing and printing mills in order to ease traffic congestion in the two square kilometre area on Ring Road has been disregarded by the member of Federation of Surat Textile Traders Association (FOSTTA).

According to FOSTTA members, only 10 percent of the textile traders have their warehouses located in the peripherial areas of the city, while most of the small traders have no option but to stock the fabric in their shops and godowns in the markets.

The forthcoming Texworld Paris event, organised by Messe Frankfurt France, will take place at Paris Le Bourget from 15-18 February 2016.

Texworld Paris would play a significant role in facilitating the connection between the European market and international manufacturers.

The February 2016 event will mark a turning point for Apparel Sourcing, the trade fair for sourcing the widest range of international ready-to-wear products. The trade fair is experiencing a good increase of around 30% of clothing and textile accessories manufacturers, currently totalling more than 230 exhibitors.

Indonesian govt urges local textile exporters to get fair trade certification

The Indonesian Trade Ministry and the Netherlands’ center for promotion of imports from developing countries (CBI) held a two-day training on fair trade for local home décor and home textile exporters on Monday and Tuesday.

The government focused on improving the competitive advantage of the local home accessories and home textile makers in the global market.

With growing demand for fair trade certification globally, government urged these local textile makers to acquire the certification to be competitive in the market.
