For the first time, artisans from all over India have come to Bhopal to exhibit their ethnic weaves and traditional pure silk and cotton products on the start of the wedding and winter season.

The third edition of Dastkar's Summer Weaves a 12 day event that began on Thursday with a focus on summer textile, craftspeople and designers bring to the bazaar season's specials.

The exhibition has put on display hand-painted pattachitra-based textiles, tribal kotpad weaves, jamdani and chanderi sarees, hand-knit crochet garments, and an array of embroideries.

It also features textile technique demonstration to demonstrate how a length of cloth evolves from fibre spun into yarn which the weaver combines one thread at a time to form the beautiful textile.
