Caprolactum prices edge up on decent demand

In China, offers for liquid good rose US$15 a ton in the fourth week of March while solid goods offer inched up US$10 a ton. Asian markers, the SE and FE markers gained US$20 a ton.

Caprolactum prices inched up that week on decent demand and flat feedstock benzene values. In China, liquid goods offer in spot market edged up while mainstream values for solid goods were higher at the lower end of the price range.

Asian benzene was dearer in the last week, ended on 1st April 2016, amid stable crude while demand in US is yet to rebound. Asian benzene markers were up US$9-13 a ton on the week and rose 15.1 per cent on the month. In Europe, spot price was down on weak demand while monthly contract price was fully settled. In US, spot was pressured by excess supply while April contracts rose amid closed arbitrages to US. April settlement marked the third consecutive split settlement, in line with market expectations. In Latin America, spot benzene dipped, tracking USG pricing.

Nylon yarn price climbs in China

In China, semi-dull FDY70D/24F prices surged US cents 6 a kg in the third week of March while FDY40D were flat during the week.

Nylon DTY 70D/24F prices rolled over while 30D/10F prices were stable on the week.

Monofilament 30D prices inched up US cents 5 a kg while 1.5D staple fiber was up US cents 9 a kg on the week.

Despite firming up of caprolactum and nylon chip cost, the rise nylon filament yarn prices were restrained by previously built inventory. Nylon yarn makers had ramped up operating rate, with expectation of higher run rates.

Caprolactum price continues upward trend

In China, offers for liquid good edged up US$40 a ton in the third week of March while solid goods offers were flat on the week. Asian markers, the SE and FE markers gained another US$30-50 a ton during the week.

Sinopec revised its March contract nomination which was up US$55 a ton for liquid goods while DSM Nanjing retained its March nomination at US$1,625 a ton for liquid goods.

High-end caprolactum for March was offered at US$1,300-1,350 a ton, with counter offers at US$1,200 a ton.

In China, semi-dull FDY70D/24F prices increased US cents 4-9 a kg in the second week of march while FDY40D were up US cents 9 a kg.

Nylon DTY 70D/24F prices were up US cents 6 a kg while 30D/10F prices were up US cents 2 a kg on the week.

Monofilament 30D prices inched up US cents 6 a kg while 1.5D staple fiber was stable on the week.

In China, liquid and solid good offers were both up US$55 a ton in the second week of March. Asian markers, the SE and FE markers further gained US$30 a ton on the week.

Sinopec revised its March contract nomination which was up US$40 a ton for liquid goods while DSM Nanjing announced March nomination which was also up US$40 a ton for liquid goods. High end caprolactum for March was settled higher at US$1,250-1,350 a ton.

Nylon yarn market remains range bound in China

In China, semi-dull FDY70D/24F prices rolled over in the first week of March while FDY40D were up US cents 8 a kg.

Nylon DTY 70D/24F prices were stable while 30D/10F prices were down US cents 7 a kg on the week.

Monofilament 30D prices remained unchanged while 1.5D staple fiber was steady during the week.

With recovering caprolactum and firmer nylon chips, nylon filament yarn prices were range bound on cost pressure, but hike of prices met sharp resistance.

In China, liquid good jumped up US$70 a ton in the first week of March while solid goods offer was up US$10 a ton.

Asian markers, the SE and FE markers gained US$30 a ton on the week.

Sinopec revised its March contract nomination to US$1,530 a ton for liquid goods while DSM Nanjing announced March nomination at US$1,580 a ton for liquid goods.

Nylon yarn price rolls over on stable demand in China

In China, semi-dull FDY70D/24F prices rolled over at US$2.14-2.22 a kg in the last week of February while FDY40D were at US$2.30-2.53 a kg.

Nylon DTY 70D/24F prices fell US cents 2 a kg while 30D/10F prices were stable on the week.

Monofilament 30D prices rolled over at US$2.37-2.60 a kg while 1.5D staple fiber was stable at US$1.99-2.14 a kg.

Nylon filament yarn prices were range bound on cost pressure on recovering caprolactum and firmer semi-dull nylon chips, but any hike met with resistance due to low offtake. Nylon-6 FDY saw improved demand and prices held stable.

Caprolactum price continues upward trend in China

In China, liquid good offers rose to US$1,460-1,505 a ton in the last week of February while solid goods offers were stable at US$1,505-1,535 a ton. Asian markers, the SE and FE markers further gained US$20 a ton.

Both, Sinopec and DSM Nanjing announced their February contract settlements at US$1,470 a ton and US$1,475 a ton respectively, for liquid goods.

High end imported goods for February was not been settled, with discussions at US$1,150-1,180 a ton.
