Caprolactum price continues upward trend in China

In China, liquid good offers rose to US$1,460-1,505 a ton in the last week of February while solid goods offers were stable at US$1,505-1,535 a ton. Asian markers, the SE and FE markers further gained US$20 a ton.

Both, Sinopec and DSM Nanjing announced their February contract settlements at US$1,470 a ton and US$1,475 a ton respectively, for liquid goods.

High end imported goods for February was not been settled, with discussions at US$1,150-1,180 a ton.

Caprolactum prices inched up that week on decent demand and form benzene markets. In China, offers for liquid CPL in spot market were hiked as discussions in were stable although offers were sparse. Mainstream values for East European goods went north.

Sinopec and DSM Nanjing settled their contract price settlement for February lower from nomination. Run rates of polymerization units were up and inventory level also went north to 6 days’ worth.

Nylon yarn makers operated at a higher rate of 64%, with inventory down to 27 days’ worth.
