100 man-made fibre yarns export from India was valued at US$16.82 million in January 2016, down 11.9 per cent YoY while volumes were at 6.4 million kg, edged down 0.5 per cent as compared to the same month last year. The total volume comprised 3.05 million kg of polyester yarn, 2.25 million kg of viscose yarn and 1.14 million kg of acrylic yarn.

100 per cent man-made fibre yarns export from India was at 6.1 million kg in December 2015, down 19.63 per cent as compared to December 2014 and the total comprised 2.90 million kg of polyester yarn, 2.53 million kg of viscose yarn and 0.68 million kg of acrylic yarn.

Viscose yarn export was valued at US$4.23 million or INR27 crore and volume at 1.42 million kg, implying average unit price realization of US$2.97 per kg in November 2015.

They were exported to 20 countries with Belgium at the top worth US$1.14 million. It was followed by Bangladesh with imports worth US$0.64 million. Both these markets accounted for 42 per cent of all viscose yarn exported in November.

Egypt, Bangladesh, Germany and Portugal were the fastest growing markets for viscose yarns while Algeria was the new major market.
