Slow trading activity seen at KCE

The Karachi Cotton Exchange on Tuesday witness slow trading activity while spot rate remained unchanged. Spot rate remained unchanged at Rs6,750/maund (37.324 kg) and Rs7,234/40-kg.

Ex-Karachi rates also stood firm at Rs6,885/maund and Rs7,379/40-kg after addition of Rs135 and Rs145 as upcountry expenses, respectively.

According to analyst, slow activity showed that only few stocks were left with the ginners. However, ginners were eager to clear their warehouses as soon as possible, as weight of lint gets reduced in hot weather.

The spot rate at Karachi Cotton Exchange on Monday, remained unchanged. The spot rates remained unchanged at Rs6,750/maund (37.324kg) and Rs7,234/40kg. Ex-Karachi rates also stood firm at Rs6,885/maund and Rs7,379/40kg after an addition of Rs135 and Rs145 as upcountry expenses, respectively.

Lint prices in local market remained stable

At the Karachi Cotton Exchange on Monday, trading activity remained slow. KCE recorded domestic transactions of around 5,000 bales from six stations in between Rs6,150/maund to Rs7,000/maund.

The spot rates stood unchanged at Rs6,700/maund (37.324kg) and Rs7,180/40kg. Ex-Karachi rate also remained firm at Rs6,835/maund and Rs7,325/40kg after an addition of Rs135 and Rs145 as upcountry expenses, respectively.

Moderate trading activity seen at the cotton market

Moderate trading activity was witnessed at the cotton market as buyers made deals for quality lint on slightly higher prices at around Rs 5,675 per maund during the trading session and around 360 bales changed hands. The Karachi Cotton Association (KCA) spot rate remained unchanged Rs 5,450 per maund.

The ginners of Punjab offered cotton of all grades to the buyers around Rs 5,000 per maund to Rs 5,100 per maund while ginners of Sindh offered low-grade lint to the buyers around Rs 4,975 per maund.
