During the trading session at cotton market, sustained buying from leading spinners helped cotton prices inch up on Wednesday. Spinners and mills remained quality conscious and made deals on slightly higher prices during the session while leading ginners sensing future demand of quality lint offered thin volumes of better stocks on higher prices to the buyers.

Much of the trading activity remained centered around Punjab variety which is now available in larger quantity due to higher flow of phutti. However, Sindh quality cotton remained in slow demand.

Buying activity at cotton market seen improving

Active buying by spinners and mills was seen at the cotton market on Tuesday, as they resumed their normal covering operations at the prevailing prices, while, at the Karachi Cotton Association spot rates remain unchanged.

Following were some of the deals that changed hands on the ready counter: 200 bales, Haroonabad at Rs6,950; 200 bales, Shahdadpur, at Rs6,550; 200 bales, Mirpurkhas, at Rs6,575; 465 bales, Vehari, at Rs6,700; 200 bales, Tando Adam, at Rs6,550 and 700 bales, Rahim Yar Khan, at Rs6,550.

Prices at cotton market remain stable on fresh buying interest

With spinners and mills showing fresh buying interest of lint cotton helped to keep the rates stable in the cotton market while the official spot rate also remained unchanged at Rs 5,300, dealers said.

In Sindh, seed cotton prices were at Rs 2200-2400, and in Punjab prices were at Rs 2400 and Rs 2900.

In the ready business, nearly 5000 bales finalized between Rs 4600-5500.

Trading activity improves with the rise in phutti supply and drop in rates

The Pakistan cotton market on Monday after an improvement in phutti supply, trading activity improved as exporters also took part due to slip in rates. Dealers said that the official spot rate sustained overnight level at Rs 4,550. While, cotton prices in Sindh were lower by Rs 50 to Rs 2300 and Rs 2400 and in Punjab rates at Rs 2200 and Rs 2400.

In the ready business, over 16,000 bales of cotton changed hands between Rs 4600 and Rs 4700, dealers said.
