During trading session at lint market in Sindh and Punjab stations demand for better grades of lint remained in focus keeping physical prices firm while buyers purchased all grades of cotton that kept market’s bottom line prices firm.

Buyers made sizeable deals for second grade of lint and also forward deals for second grade of lint at around Rs 6,425 per maund to Rs 6,450 per maund. Buyers also made one month forward deals at around Rs 6,225 per maund to Rs 6,250 per maund.

Demand of second grade of cotton remained dominant during trading, spinners purchased the commodity for blending purpose at Rs 6,425 per maund while the leading buyers made forward deals for second grade of lint at around Rs 6,400 per maund to Rs 6,450 per maund.

Buyers made sizeable deals for second grade of lint during trading session in Sindh and Punjab stations while physical prices remained steady. Buyers also made deals in all grades of cotton that kept market’s volumes moderate.

Trading at cotton market remained grade selective while buyers consolidated their future positions with fresh fine lots making forward deals for better grades of lint on sellers' asking price pushing physical prices in green zone amid firm spot rate of Rs6,100 per maund at Karachi Cotton Association (KCA), traders said.

Floor brokers said that buyers bought all grades at around Rs 6,275 per maund to Rs 6,500 per maund and deals for fine and second grade lint for blending purpose remained sound that changed hands at around Rs 6,750 per maund on average during trading session.

At Pakistan cotton market, leading buyers were seen making deals to meet their immediate requirement of lint on back of grade issue and in anticipation of decline in spot rate. Spinners in Sindh and Punjab stations bought fine grades on competitive price at around Rs 5,575 per maund to Rs 5,600 per maund while general buyers made deals for all grades in Punjab and Sindh stations at around Rs 4,975 per maund to Rs 5,200 per maund, traders said on Friday.
