Karl Mayer acquires Master S.r.l’s indigo dyeing technology

Karl Mayer, a leading warp knitting machinery manufacturer and Italy based Master S.r.l., have signed the agreement for transferring the continuous dyeing technology with indigo and other dyestuffs of warp chains for denim fabrics.

Master is a pioneer and a leader in the continuous dyeing with indigo and other dyestuffs. After the delivery of currently ordered machines, the company will stop the manufacturing of these kind of machines and will focus its activity to develop and manufacture new machines for packages and hank dyeing.

New York-based serial investor Purnendu Chatterjee of The Chatterjee Group (TCF) signed an agreement to acquire a 90% stake in Mitsubishi Chemical Corp.’s Indian subsidiary, MCC PTA India Corp. Pvt. Ltd, a producer of purified terephthalic acid, or PTA (a precursor to polyester), identified for an estimated $48 million, or Rs.323 crore at the current exchange rate.

The deal rescue MCC PTA potential closure and secures the jobs of some 1,100 workers, said a person close to Chatterjee.

Pakistan focusing on textile exports to improve its financial status

Pakistan has signed an agreement with Tadjikistan and Kirghizistan at the beginning of December to enhance the country’s energy supply. With the improvements underway, Pakistan is looking to increase its textile exports over the next nine years, and hopes to increase 2013’s €466m profit further with predictions for $26bn profit in textile exports by 2023.
