Nylon yarn price inches up amid modest demand in Asia

In China, nylon FDY70D/24F SD and FDY40D prices were both up US cents 7-10 a kg in the second week of August. Nylon DTY30D/10F prices also rose US cents 10 a kg on the week.

Monofilament 30D prices were up US cents 2 a kg while nylon staple fiber 1.5D prices also inched up US cents 2 a kg on the week.

Caprolactum prices stable to up in Asia

In the second week of August, the SE and FE Asian caprolactum markers were flat on the lower end. In China, spot liquid good offers were up US$16 a ton on the week while solid goods rose similarly.

Sinopec raised August nomination at a hike of US$60 a ton from last nomination. European goods were stable on the week. Caprolactum prices firmed up in Asian markets supported by slightly high benzene cost amid modest demand.

Nylon yarn prices stable to up in Asia

In China, nylon FDY70D/24F SD prices were stable in the last week of June while FDY40D rolled over during the week, however both were up US cents 2 a kg due to weak US$.

Nylon filament yarn prices remained stable on high cost pressure as nylon chip and caproalctum markets stayed firmly flat. Downstream converters were cautious and saw tepid demand with the off season drawing near. Warp‐knitting, weaving and AJ covering sectors operated at 70% while, circular‐knitting mills and lacing mills were running around 50%, implying modest demand for nylon yarn.

Caprolactum price moves up in Asia

The SE and FE Asian caprolactum markers were up US$20 a ton at lower end in the last week of June. Caprolactum prices firmed up in Asian markets at the lower end of the price range as producers cut their run rate. Benzene markets were range‐bound supporting caprolactum to stay firm.

Nylon price inches up in China

In China, FDY70D/24F SD prices rose US cents 3 a kg in the third week of June, while FDY40D inched up US cents 2 a kg on the week. DTY prices were flat.
Nylon filament yarn prices marched higher although nylon chip cost eased a bit while caprolactum prices remained flat. Downstream converters maintained stable operation and demand was moderate with off season drawing near.

Warp knitting, weaving and AJ covering sectors operated stably while circular‐knitting mills and lacing mills were still operating at half their capacities, implying modest demand for nylon yarn.

Caprolactum price remains range-bound in Asia

Asian caprolactum markers, the SE and FE were flat in the third week of June, while high‐end contract price was offered stable on the week. In China, spot liquid and solid goods offers rolled over during the week.

Caprolactum prices were steady that week on the back of range‐bound benzene and supply constraint easing somewhat. Demand remained modest as run rates at polymerization units and yarn makers were at 75%, with no change in inventory levels. In contracts, both Sinopec and Fibrant raised their June contract nominations bring them to a same level.

Nylon yarn prices rise sharply in Asia

In China, FDY70D/24F SD prices surged US cents 10-14 a kg in the first week of June, while FDY40D jumped US cents 10 a kg on the week.
DTY prices were also up US cents 10 a kg and 30D/10F climbed US cents 11 a kg on the week.

Monofilament 30D prices rose sharply by US cents 48 a kg while nylon staple fiber 1.5D prices jumped US cents 22 a kg on the week.

Caprolactum prices surge on tight supply

In China, spot liquid good offers were up US$100-140 a ton in the first week of June while solid goods rose US$100 a ton. Caprolactum prices surged on back of firming benzene cost and tight supply. In China, offers in spot market gained while discussions were talked up. In contract, both Sinopec and Fibrant hiked their nominations for June while high‐end contracts were not settled during the week.

Caprolactum prices rise on tight supply

In China, spot liquid good offers were up US$30-55 a ton in the last week of May. Caprolactum prices firmed up on the back of range‐bound benzene and tight supply, as markets welcomed some price recoveries. In China, offers for liquid goods in spot market were hiked significantly while discussions firmed up. In contract, Sinopec and Fibrant raised their June contract nominations.

Demand rose slightly with run rates of polymerization units up at 73% and inventory level down to 3 days’ worth. Yarn makers were running steady at 71% with inventory at 25‐30 days’ worth.
