In the second week of August, the SE and FE Asian caprolactum markers were flat on the lower end. In China, spot liquid good offers were up US$16 a ton on the week while solid goods rose similarly.
Sinopec raised August nomination at a hike of US$60 a ton from last nomination. European goods were stable on the week. Caprolactum prices firmed up in Asian markets supported by slightly high benzene cost amid modest demand.
CPL spot market although ranged bound amid sidelined stance among buyers. Cost pressure was moderate, while buyers still presented different actions, with small-scale ones relatively cautious. Overall sentiment was stable during the week. Given mild rebound of benzene and eased supply constraint, CPL market will fluctuate in a narrow range.
