In China, FDY70D/24F SD prices were unchanged in the first week of November while FDY40D rolled over, but both were up US cents 1-2 a kg due to strong Yuan.
DTY 70D/24F prices remained unchanged while 30D/10F were flat on the week, however all were up US cents 1-2 a kg. Monofilament 30D prices were flat while nylon staple fiber 1.5D prices were up US cents 7 a kg during the week.
Nylon filament yarn prices rolled over in line with firmer nylon chip and caprolactum cost. Demand remained modest, but impressive despite warp‐knitting, weaving and AJ covering sector seeing smooth sales and operated at 80% capacity.
Circular‐knitting mills and lacing mills ran at 70% capacities. With slack season ending, converters replenished and followed up. Fishing‐net and monofilament yarn markets showed stable performance. Despite high cost pressure, lackluster demand weighed on prices. Given cost pressure, nylon yarn prices are likely to edge up despite ample supply.
