In China, semi-dull FDY70D/24F prices in the fourth week of October were up in local currency but unchanged in US terms. FDY40D were also stable.
Nylon DTY 70D/24F prices rolled over on the week and DTY 30D/10F were also steady.
Nylon filament yarn prices remained flat on the week but yarn makers suffered margin losses on recovering raw materials and flagging demand.
In China, producers were considering production cutback to reverse deteriorative margins.
Demand for DTY saw little improvement due to moderate performance in hosiery, underwear, weaving and warp-knitting sectors.
Demand for staple fiber was tolerable, while for fishing-net yarn, monofilament and cord fabric was modest.
Steady production and slow liquidity resulted in stock backlogs leaving no room to raise prices.
