In China, FDY70D/24F SD prices declined US cents 6 a kg while FDY40D also fell US cents 6 a kg on the week. DTY 70D/24F prices were down US cents 6 a kg while 30D/10F remained unchanged on the week.
Monofilament 30D prices dropped US cents 7 a kg while nylon staple fiber 1.5D prices were stable during the week.
Nylon filament yarn prices inched down further, but at a slower pace as cost pressure eased with the weakening of nylon chips price and caprolactum range bound in weakness. With falling yarn prices, demand may warm up following inventory digestion.
Warp‐knitting, weaving and AJ covering sectors operated at 80% capacity while, circular‐knitting mills and lacing mills ran at an average of 55% capacity, implying modest demand for nylon yarn. Fishing‐net yarn, monofilament, staple fiber and cord fabric makers also procured yarn given their lean inventory.
With caprolactum and nylon chip market expected to stabilize, nylon yarn prices will remain firm, with limited downside room.
