In China, FDY70D/24F SD prices were up US cents 8 a kg in the third week of January while FDY40D were up US cents 8 a kg on the week. DTY 70D/24F prices also moved up while 30D/10F rose US cents 8 a kg during the week.
Monofilament 30D prices jumped US cents 8 a kg while nylon staple fiber 1.5D prices were up US cents 7 a kg on the week.
Nylon filament yarn makers trimmed operation due to slow demand while prices moved up further with margins turning positive amid rising raw material cost. Nylon yarn producers hiked offers further to relieve cost pressure.
Demand was lusterless as it was close to the end of the lunar year and converters cut production. Warp‐knitting, weaving and AJ covering sectors witnessed smooth sales but operated at low rate of 30%. Meanwhile, circular‐knitting mills and lacing mills trimmed operating rate to 10%. In non‐textile sectors, fishing‐net yarn, monofilament, staple fiber and cord fabric markets saw flagging demand.
