In China, semi-dull FDY70D/24F prices rose US cents 3 a kg in the first week of April while FDY40D was flat on the week.
Nylon DTY 70D/24F prices were also flat while 30D/10F prices were up US cents 7 a kg at the upper end.
Monofilament 30D prices rolled over while 1.5D staple fiber marched higher on the week.
With firmer raw material cost, nylon yarn markets made supplementary hike. Demand from downstream makers picked up, with circular‐knitting, weaving and covering mills operating at high level at 70% while run rate at warp‐knitting and AJ covering mills was 80%. However, limited fresh orders, and rigid demand dominated the nylon yarn market.
In case of non‐textile sectors, rigid demand for staple fibre, fishing‐net yarn, monofilament and cord fabric, the outlook was still upbeat. However, previous inventory build-up restrained any upswing in nylon yarn prices.
