In China, semi-dull FDY70D/24F prices inched up US cents 2 a kg in the second week of April while FDY40D rose US cents 2 a kg.
Nylon DTY 70D/24F prices were flat while 30D/10F prices rolled over on the week.
Monofilament 30D prices rolled over while 1.5D staple fiber fell US cents 9 a kg on the upper end.
Despite firmer cost support, the previous inventory buildup has been restraining upswing in nylon filament yarn prices for many weeks now.
Nylon yarn makers were running at close to 80%, leading to ample supply. However, given existing losses, some suppliers will cut production as hike of prices will meet resistance. Cord fabric makers struggled to make two ends meet and as a result run rate was capped at below 70%.
Demand was moderate as downstream made little replenishment as they lacked new orders while rigid demand dominated staple fiber, fishing‐net yarn, monofilament and cord fabric market.
