Nylon filament yarn market in Asia was bearish on the back of lower chip cost, with prices for some products softening and some still firm. As nylon chip market trended lower with poor outlook, nylon yarn market moved down slowly under easing cost pressure. Fundamentals were moderate amid cautious production, modest demand and passable inventory.
Demand for FDY and monofilament was decent while demand for other products remained rigid. Warp-knitting, weaving and AJ covering sectors operated at 60-80% of full capacity. Meanwhile, circular-knitting mills and lacing mills ran at 40-60% capacities.
Overall, nylon yarn prices are likely to range bound on a weak note.
