Nylon yarn price dips on lower raw material prices

YarnsandFibers News Bureau, 02-02-2016 11:51 -

In China, semi-dull FDY70D/24F prices fell US cents 3 a kg in the third week of January while FDY40D were stable on the week.

Nylon DTY 70D/24F prices rolled over while DTY 30D/10F prices declined US cents 4-7 a kg.

Monofilament 30D prices also fell US cents 8 a kg while 1.5D staple fiber dipped US cents 3-6 a kg on the week.

Nylon filament yarn markets sustained the weakness caused easing low operating pressure due to softening of caprolactum and nylon chip prices. Downstream consumers will shut down units in late January and will be cautious following up.

The market continued to be notional as no firm bids or offers during the week. Meanwhile, after leading units successfully reclaim funds, the market welcomed the replenishment season.

Demand for staple fiber was slower, while for fishing-net yarn, monofilament and cord fabric was bleak amid limited replenishment.

Slower liquidity and limited replenishment, inventory is hard to drift south. Overall, nylon filament markets will only edge down in the short run on poor margins.
