In China, semi-dull FDY70D/24F prices rolled over in the third week of April while FDY40D gained US cents 8 a kg at the upper end.
Nylon DTY 70D/24F prices were flat on the week while 30D/10F prices were stable.
Monofilament 30D prices rolled over while 1.5D staple fiber partially regained US cents 3 a kg.
Nylon filament yarn markets continued to reel under inventory pressure and prices remained unmoved despite firming raw material cost. Yarn makers were running at close to 80% operating rates in China, leading to oversupply. However, with losses at major suppliers, production cuts may be implemented in coming weeks to reduce supply.
Cord fabric makers still struggled to make two ends meet while downstream fabric makers made marginal replenishment as they lacked new orders.
