In China, semi-dull FDY70D/24F prices were up US cents 3 a kg in the first week of August while FDY40D were up US cents 8 a kg on the week. Nylon DTY 70D/24F prices were steady while 30D/10F were flat on the week. Nylon staple fiber 1.5D prices rolled over while monofilament 30D prices rose US cents 8 a kg during the week.
Nylon filament yarn prices continued to march higher to cover margins on firmer raw material costs. Yarn makers cut operating rate while buyers made some replenishment, contributing to better fundamentals.
Demand from warp‐knitting, weaving and AJ covering sector witnessed smooth while, circular‐knitting mills and lacing mills were running at below 50% operating rate.
Owing to low inventory of feedstock and rigid demand, downstream resumption was stable, with favorable restocking atmosphere under buy‐rise mentality. Demand was cautious for staple fiber, fishing‐net yarn and monofilament markets.
