In Qianqing, PC (65/35) 32s yarn prices were down US cent 1 a kg in the last week of August while 45s PC combed yarn prices were stable on the week. 32s PV (65/35) rolled over during the week.
Blended yarn prices were generally stable taking cue from minor changes in manmade fibre prices while cotton prices still edged lower. Manmade fiber prices in China were relatively stable with polyester flat and viscose rising mildly on the week. However, import prices were still below domestic prices for blended yarns.
In Pakistan, polyester-cotton yarn prices were showing stability and remained at the previous week’s level. Cotton prices remained firm driven by fear of short supply for the second consecutive year.
In India, blended yarn prices mostly rolled over despite the decline in cotton prices. Spinners were covering margin loss of past several weeks. 30s (65/35) PV warp yarns were unchanged in Indore market while PC 30s (52/48) prices in Ludhiana rolled over on the week.
