Blended yarn price rolls over in Asian markets

YarnsandFibers News Bureau, 04-07-2016 10:42 -

In Qianqing, PC (65/35) 32s yarn prices rolled over in the fourth week of June while 45s PC combed yarn prices remained unchanged on the week. 32s PV (65/35) were pegged stable during the week. In China, demand for blended yarns was depressed in this part of the year and this made difficult for spinners to hike prices in line with the rise of their material costs. However, PV and PC yarn prices rolled over on the week.

In Pakistan, low level of sales was reported from Faisalabad yarn market, where 20s PC yarn prices fell on the week. A slight decline in price offers was expected to transmit into more demand from export markets. 20s PC (52/48) carded yarn prices dropped PakRe1 per pound on the Faisalabad market while 30s were unmoved on the week.

In India, PC yarn prices continued rising in line with the increase in cotton prices. Local demand was weak and exports were hard to move excepting for PV yarns. In May, PV yarn exports jumped more than 30% year on year but price realisation moderated. 30s (65/35) PV warp yarns were down US cent 1 a kg in Indore market. In Ludhiana, PC 30s (52/48) prices gained US cent 1 a kg.
