In Qianqing, PC (65/35) 32s and 45s were both down US cent 1 a kg due to weak currency in the first week of June. Polyester-viscose prices were seen dropping in Qiangqing (Zhejiang). Yarn import prices had slightly risen, in US$ and yuan terms.
Blended yarn prices have remained relatively stable in line with the continuous rise of cotton prices on both the domestic and import markets, whereas polyester fiber prices have further decreased negating the movement in cotton values.
In India, polyester-cotton prices slightly rose but PSF remained unchanged. Meanwhile, cotton prices continued rising over a lack of quality grades, thus support blended yarn markets. 30s (65/35) PV warp yarn prices were up US cents 2 a kg in Indore market. In Ludhiana, PC 30s (52/48) prices were also up US cents 2 due to strong INR.
In Pakistan, demand was relatively depressed in the week for polyester-cotton yarn, while there was a significant drop in sales of 31s yarns. However, major suppliers refused to lower their offers seeing good prospect ahead. 20s PC (52/48) carded yarn prices rolled over on the Faisalabad market while 30s were flat on the week.
