In Qianqing, PC (65/35) 32s yarn prices rose US cents 4 a kg while 45s PC combed yarn prices rolled over on the week. 32s PV (65/35) were stable on the week.
In China, PC prices were seen inching up on the week despite seasonal demand is usually low in July and any attempt to raise prices could be strongly resisted until the month end.
In India, PV-PC yarn prices were more stable in the week and the long-term shift from 100% cotton to poly-cotton was seen accelerating. Thus, spinners could therefore restore their margins by raising prices in the coming weeks. 30s (65/35) PV warp yarns were flat in Indore market. In Ludhiana, PC 30s (52/48) prices were down INR1 a kg on the week.
In Pakistan, prices of PC 30s yarn inched up reflecting firming cotton prices and a bit buoyed demand. In line with the new regulations implemented from 1 July, taxes have been scrapped on domestic sales of yarns. 20s PC (52/48) carded yarn prices rolled over on the Faisalabad market while 30s inched up PakRe1 per pound during the week.
