In Qianqing, PC (65/35) 32s and 45s yarn prices were both down US cent 1 a kg in the last week of May due to weak currency.
In China, blended yarn prices remained relatively stable in the week as cotton prices moved higher while polyester prices dropped a bit.
Demand for domestic yarn was relatively weak with import prices rather unchanged and the price difference between cheaper domestic and imported yarn reducing.
In Pakistan, sales declined more sharply declined for polyester-cotton yarns, and some suppliers were unable to maintain their price offers, as a result prices were softer to flat on the week. 20s PC (52/48) carded yarn prices were unchanged on the Faisalabad market while 30s were flat on the week.
In India, polyester-cotton prices retreated to lower levels, by contrast. 30s (65/35) PV warp yarn prices fell US cents 3 a kg in Indore market while in Ludhiana, PC 30s (52/48) prices were also down US cents 3 due to weak INR.
