In Qianqing, PC (65/35) 32s yarn prices fell US cents 2 a kg in the second week of January while 45s PC combed yarn prices rolled over on the week.
Blended yarn prices moved down in China in line with fibre prices. Polyester cotton yarn prices dropped in the meantime with falling cotton price.
The fresh fall in fiber prices depressed yarn offers, with even cotton losing ground on the domestic market in China whereas viscose sharply retreated. PSF prices showed resilience but could further decline.
Demand for blended yarns was relatively weak during the week. In India, although prices rolled over, weaker currency pegged US$ term prices down.
In Pakistan, yarn export remained depressed in the past weeks due to a lack of demand from China and Europe. Spinning margins were falling due to the flat yarn prices amid rising cotton prices at the same time.
24 PC (52/48) carded yarn prices were stable in the Faisalabad market while 30s remained unchanged.
In India, 30s (65/35) PV warp yarn prices were down US cent 1 a kg (due to weak INR) in Indore market.
In Ludhiana, PC 30s (52/48) prices also edged down US cent 1 a kg on the week.
