Coats Sells North America Crafts Business. The sale includes the well known Crafts brands Red Heart, Coats & Clark, Aunt Lydia and Susan Bates. Anchor, Dual Duty XP and J&P Coats will be licensed for varying terms. Around 560 North America Crafts employees, will become part of Spinrite. The manufacturing site and distribution center in Albany, and the sites in Toccoa and Douglas will transfer to Spinrite ownership.

The opening of the new building comes soon after the recent announcement of Coats being named one of the best companies to work for in Vietnam by HR Asia, the leading regional HR publication. Coats first opened a site in Hanoi in 1992 and relocated to the current Hung Yen location in 2006. It also has a manufacturing facility in Ho Chi Minh City.

Group Plc headquartered in UK, an Industrial thread manufacturer and a major player in the Americas textile crafts market has acquired US based Patrick Yarn Mill, a manufacturer of high-performance engineered yarns based in North Carolina specializing in cut-resistant and flame retardant yarns.

Coats said that its new acquisition’s unique spinning competencies in engineered performance yarns offer an opportunity to expand its existing Performance Materials portfolio as well as to extend its innovation capability.
