Japanese designer Yuima Nakazato has created a haute couture collection for Paris Fashion Week in collaboration with synthetic spider-silk specialist Spiber.

The garments were created by harnessing a variety of Brewed Protein materials and blended textiles.

Brewed Protein is a new protein material developed by Spiber, created through a fermentation process, and which is not reliant on petroleum or animals.

Students who participated in Fashion Week got to attend shows and networking events from companies such as Victoria’s Secret, among many others. Last week, an LSU junior majoring in apparel design, Katie Brunet, experienced fashion like a celebrity in New York City. Brunet was one of 17 students from around the country selected by LSU Textiles, Apparel Design and Merchandising faculty to attend 2019 New York Fashion Week.

Indian textiles and craft are the buzzwords at the ongoing fashion week in Delhi. The opening show on Wednesday was dedicated to weaves and textiles of Banaras, the ending will be similar in tone when 16 designers will come together for the finale to showcase Banarasi weaves.

Another big year in Fashion for Hongkong, as it opened today two concurrent fair, HongKong’s Fashion Week for Fall/Winter 2015 and World Boutique 2015 with some 1,800 exhibitors from around the world taking part. The two fairs expect 118 buying missions from 43 countries and regions, consisting of over 6,000 buyers from over 4,200 companies. Participants from Greece, Finland, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, New Zealand, and the Netherlands will be taking part for the first time.
