The group of young designers at 'India Runway Week 2016' held at the Thyagraj Stadium in New Delhi brought textiles like Ikkats, Block prints, Kantha prints, Madhubani and organic cotton to the ramp, showcasing them in the Indian, Western and casual wear.

In the current melange of high-street labels and fast fashion, the youngest fashion trade event witnessed the true essence of Indian textiles.

The first edition of 'Rajasthan Heritage Week', that includes a 3 day fashion extravaganza, Handmade in Rajasthan aims to celebrate the desert state's textile and crafts will begin in Jaipur from December 3 . Fashion designer Prasad Bidapa has collaborated with National Award winning handloom weavers from Rajasthan for this event.

The fashion extravaganza was organized in Imphal by 'Blue Wings', with an aim to promote the traditional indigenous attires of the North-East region and attract the attention of national and foreign customers.

The organizer, Nishikanta said that their vision is to promote designers of Manipur. This is the second edition of their show and they are trying to promote traditional attires and designers.

A recent fashion show saw foreign models walking the ramp in traditional attires, with Manipur's rich and colourful handloom well projected by many North-East based designers.
