Bangladesh garment sector is passing through a tough time for various reasons which are seriously affecting the business moreover the duty waiver scheme, known as generalised system of preferences, the trade privileges granted to Pakistan by the European Union, will come into effect for Pakistan from January 1 and will apply to 75 products, mostly garments. It ends in 2017. Bangladesh apparel sector will have to compete with Pakistan in the market.
